In the summer of 1764, a series of mysterious beast attacks occurred in the forests of southeastern France. A cowherd woman witnessed a massive wolf-like creature; although her dog fled, her cattle managed to drive it away with their horns. Soon after, the local area began to see frequent reports of victims attacked by this beast, with some even claiming to have encountered a werewolf. Despite numerous attempts to hunt it down, the creature continued to elude capture. Ultimately, it was discovered that the beast was actually the guardian of a mysterious cave within Africa's Elgon Volcano—a group of elephants that had come in search of precious salt deposits.
Meanwhile, the Elgon Volcano, located on the border between Kenya and Uganda, attracts herds of elephants due to its unique geological structure and rich salt resources. The elephants carefully navigate through the dark caves, exploring the walls adorned with glimmering crystals. These crystals are actually salt deposits rich in volcanic magma, drawing elephants and other herbivores to forage. The elephants leave deep traces in the caves, proving their reliance on this valuable resource.
