When the young Prince of Wales, Edward VII, was passionate about fox hunting, he gifted a precious gold matchbox, attached to a watch chain, to actor Edward A. Sassoon. Sassoon carried it with him for many years until he lost it in an accident after falling off a horse. He then replicated a new matchbox and gave it to his son, Lytton, who later passed it on to his friend Rabotach in Australia. Soon after, Lytton's brother George unexpectedly received a gold matchbox that had been lost for 20 years during a hunting trip, discovered that very morning by a farm worker while plowing the fields. George informed actor Edward H. Sassoon, who was in America, about the incident, and it turned out that he had met actor Arthur Lawrence on a train, who coincidentally also possessed the same gold matchbox, leaving both men astonished.
