As the harsh winter and scorching summer approach, dreamers often yearn for a place that remains warm in winter and cool in summer. In China, there exists such a magical location—the "Ground Temperature Anomaly Zone" in Huanren County, located in the eastern mountainous region of Liaoning Province. This anomaly zone stretches approximately 15 kilometers, where the temperature at one meter underground can reach 12°C in summer, while it remains warm even in winter. This natural wonder has captured the interest of numerous scientists eager to uncover its secrets.

In the Ground Temperature Anomaly Zone, the underground temperature gradually decreases in summer. Even during the peak summer heat, with temperatures soaring to 30°C, the ground at one meter deep maintains a cool 12°C. Conversely, in the depths of winter, the temperature here is significantly higher than the outside, allowing crops to thrive. Some have even planted scallions and garlic on the hills, where the temperature inside the greenhouses remains at a steady 17°C, and the ground temperature stays at 15°C, preventing snow accumulation throughout the year.

Similar astonishing phenomena can be found in the Taihang Mountains at an altitude of 1500 meters in the northwest of Shiban Yan Township, Linzhou City, Henan Province, known as "Bingbingbei." Here, ice begins to form in March and lasts for five months, while the winter months are filled with warmth, with pleasant spring water and vibrant flowers lining the streams.

These natural phenomena challenge traditional temperature variation patterns and have piqued the interest of scientists. They speculate that there may be two gas storage layers underground releasing air currents simultaneously, or that a special insulation layer and atmospheric convection are at play, or even that unique valves are automatically opening and closing. However, these hypotheses require further scientific research for validation.
