In the summer of 1983, the cargo ship "Maracaibo" from Venezuela encountered a ghost ship named "White Cloud" while sailing in the Atlantic Ocean. This unmanned vessel had been drifting for 62 days, with no one on deck and lifeboats missing. The crew discovered a logbook on the "White Cloud," which indicated its last port of call was Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, off the northwest coast of Africa. However, the reason for this ship's unmanned state remains a century-old mystery. Similar incidents have occurred throughout history, such as the "Marathon" in 1855, the "De Grib" in 1873, the "Sibald" in 1880, and the "Alden Austin" in 1881. These ghost ships have sparked speculation about unknown forces at sea, including tornadoes, tsunamis, infrasound, and ocean monsters. Yet, to this day, no definitive answers exist.
