On the morning of December 5, 1966, the sun shone brightly over the quiet town of Cuddyersburg, Pennsylvania. Don Guccini, a gas company employee, was performing his routine check of the gas meter when he discovered that 94-year-old Doctor Bentley had passed away, and his home was filled with a strange odor. Upon entering the kitchen, Guccini found a pile of black ash and a dark hole, with the doctor's two canes lying nearby. Even more astonishing was the fact that the doctor's body had been reduced to ashes, with only his right leg remaining intact on the floor. Terrified, Guccini quickly called the police. When they arrived, they were unable to explain the phenomenon and ultimately closed the case hastily. To this day, scientists continue to explore the mysteries of human self-immolation.
