On a Saturday in 1909, Professor C.E. Sherman from Ohio State University experienced an incredible 'perfect day.' Almost every step he took that day led to unexpected success, culminating in his discovery of all the maps and materials he needed. From visiting the Federal Engineering Office in the morning and obtaining an accurate map of the Ohio River, to unexpectedly finding a map of Highland County at a ticket agent's in Norwood in the afternoon, and even running into an old friend he hadn't seen in years, Sherman’s day seemed preordained, with each moment unfolding seamlessly and magically.

That day, Sherman took a train to Cincinnati and immediately visited the Federal Engineering Office, where he fortuitously acquired the Ohio River map. Next, he encountered a ticket agent in Norwood, who unearthed a dusty Highland County map from a pile of books. In Chillicothe, Sherman met an old friend, and during their conversation, the friend unexpectedly encountered the gentleman who had written to Sherman. Finally, in Waverly, Sherman not only found a mechanic and students from Pike County but also discovered the Pike County map through old Grace, even seeing a refined version of the county map at the courthouse.

Throughout the day, Sherman felt as though every action he took was perfectly aligned with his goals, as if everything had been meticulously arranged without a hitch. He couldn't help but marvel at how that day felt like a blessing from Lady Luck herself.
