In Texas, USA, a little pig named Bessy has won the admiration of many for her smart and brave actions. This pig not only has a high IQ but also became a local hero when she saved a drowning child during an accident, turning into a heartwarming story in the animal kingdom.
Bessy is a pet of a local family and has loved playing in the water since she was young, learning to swim in her owners' pool. One day, the owner, Carol, took her 11-year-old son Anthony, who has special needs, to play by the lake. Unfamiliar with the water, Carol let him play on the shore while she swam with Bessy to the center of the lake. Suddenly, Anthony fell into a deep hole and began to struggle desperately. Carol was frantic but too far away to help. At that moment, Bessy seemed to sense the danger and quickly swam to Anthony's side, offering him her harness to help him escape the peril. She ultimately dragged him back to the shallow area safely.
For her bravery, Bessy was awarded the Steven Award and became the first pig inducted into the Texas Pet Hall of Fame.
